11Indigent Students win 1.1m UI ASUU Scholarships

ASUU’s University of Ibadan chapter has awarded scholarships worth ₦1.1 million to 11 financially challenged students as part of its 2024/2025 indigent student support programme.

The beneficiaries were chosen from over 100 applicants after thorough screening and interviews.

Two students got ₦200,000 each from the National ASUU, five received ₦100,000 each from the UI branch, and four others were supported with ₦50,000 each by Professor Tajudeen Àkànjí.

Despite ongoing challenges like delayed salaries and unresolved agreements with the federal government, ASUU emphasized its dedication to helping brilliant students continue their education.

The award ceremony was held at the ASUU-UI Secretariat in Ibadan.
