Our correspondent who plied the expressway through to the Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja, observed that the roads were not busy as usual.

The police in Lagos had announced movement restrictions throughout the state and pledged commitment to ensure a peaceful poll on Saturday.

Officers of the Lagos State Police Command were earlier sited along the Lagos Assembly road around 7am as they warmed up to be deployed to strategic locations in the area.

As of 8.18 am, the area was still deserted even as voters were expected to start going to polling units to cast their votes from 8am.

The local government election is holding in the 20 LGAs and 37 local council development areas of the state.
