The National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, Federal Health Institutions sector (NANNM-FHI), has issued a seven-day strike notice to the Federal Government, demanding immediate action on welfare improvements, fair allowances, and better working conditions.
In a notice jointly signed by President Nurse Morakinyo-Olajide Rilwan and National Secretary Nurse Enya Osinachi, the association announced that the strike will begin at midnight on Tuesday, July 29, if the government fails to respond to its demands.
The decision followed an emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held on July 10 in Abuja, after the expiration of a previous 15-day ultimatum issued on July 14 without a satisfactory response from the Federal Government or the Ministry of Health.
According to NANNM-FHI, the planned strike will involve a complete withdrawal of services from all federal health institutions. Nurses across the country have been urged to comply fully and stand in solidarity.
