UNIZIK Security Arrests Three Students For Flouting Signing Off Ban

Security operatives at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) arrested two female students and a male student for engaging in signing-off activities, even after the school’s recent ban.

Many students, assuming the ban wouldn’t take effect immediately, had invited friends and family to sign their shirts after their final exams.

However, UNIZIK had earlier placed an indefinite suspension on the practice, citing repeated cases of violence, property damage, and the presence of unauthorized persons during the ceremonies.

Registrar Dr. Chinenye Okeke warned that students caught defying the order risk severe disciplinary measures, including expulsion, while non-students involved could face legal prosecution.

The swift arrests clearly show the university’s resolve to strictly enforce the ban and maintain order on campus.
