The Lagos State House of Assembly has passed a bill for the establishment of the Lagos State University of Medicine and Health Sciences through second reading.
Lawmakers noted that the institution will boost medical training, create jobs, enhance research, and generate revenue for the state, while also addressing the shortage of healthcare professionals.
The Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, has referred the bill to the joint committees on Health and Education for further review within three weeks.
