FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE ABEOKUTA (FUNAAB) SECURES NUC APPROVAL FOR 8 NEW ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to establish new academic programmes following a successful Resource Verification visit last year.

 

Panels of experts conducted the Resource Assessment to evaluate the availability of human and material resources required for the establishment of the proposed programmes at the University. Based on their findings, the NUC Executive Secretary, Prof. Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu has granted approval for the Full-Time mode of the following Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes, which would commence in the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

 

The Undergraduate Programmes are:

 

1. B.Sc. Wildlife and Eco-Tourism Management

 

2. B.Sc. Forest Resource Management

 

3. B.Sc. Hydrology and Water Resource Management

 

4. B.Sc. Climate Science and Agricultural Meteorology

 

5. B.Sc. Cooperative Studies

 

6. B.Sc. Development Studies

 

The Postgraduate Programmes are:

 

7. PGD, M.Sc., Ph.D. Mechatronics Engineering

 

8. PGD, M.Sc., Ph.D. Entrepreneurship Studies

 

9. Professional Master in Integrated Water Resources Management

 

The approval marks a significant step in FUNAAB’s commitment to academic excellence and its mission to expand educational opportunities in critical fields of study.
