LASU ANNOUNCES 29TH AND 30TH COMBINED CONVOCATION CEREMONIES

Lagos State University has released the official schedule for its combined 29th and 30th Convocation Ceremonies for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions.

According to a statement issued by the Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel A. Fanu, the convocation activities will run from Wednesday, August 12 to Sunday, August 23, 2026, featuring a series of academic, cultural, and religious events across the University’s Ojo and Epe campuses.

The programme will commence with a Convocation Press Conference and staff sports competition on August 12, followed by Staff Celebration Day on August 13. Cultural activities, including Coconut Breaking and Jumat Service, are scheduled for August 14.

The award of degrees will take place across multiple days, beginning with Engineering and Agricultural Sciences at the Epe Campus on August 17, while other degrees will be conferred at the main campus on August 18. The ceremony for Doctorate and Honorary Degrees is billed for August 19, with a Thanksgiving Service concluding activities on August 23.

The Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, congratulated all graduands and urged them to comply strictly with convocation guidelines, including timely arrival, proper dressing, and adherence to conduct regulations.

Graduands are also required to return academic gowns on or before Friday, August 21, 2026, to avoid a daily penalty of ₦1,000, while replacement fees apply for lost or damaged gowns.

The University further advised parents, guardians, and invited guests to be seated early and maintain decorum throughout the ceremonies.
