IMO STATE UNIVERSITY (IMSU) RELEASES POST-UTME AND DIRECT ENTRY ADMISSION FORM FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Management of Imo State University has officially announced the commencement of online registration for its 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise.

According to the institution, the application portal opened on Monday, 25th May, 2026, for suitably qualified candidates seeking admission into the university.


Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission into Imo State University must satisfy the following requirements:

UTME Candidates

  • Applicants must score a minimum of 160 in the 2026 UTME.
  • Candidates must choose Imo State University as their first-choice institution.

Change of Institution

Candidates who did not initially select IMSU but scored 160 and above are also eligible to apply after completing a Change of Institution to IMSU through the JAMB portal before the application deadline.

Direct Entry (DE) Candidates

Direct Entry applicants must possess one of the following:

  • OND
  • HND
  • First Degree
  • A’ Level Certificate
  • Other approved equivalent qualifications in relevant disciplines.

Important JAMB Upload Notice

All applicants are required to ensure that their O’Level and qualifying results are uploaded on the JAMB portal.

Candidates awaiting results are advised to upload their results immediately after release, as failure to upload credentials to JAMB will automatically disqualify candidates from admission consideration.


Registration Procedure

Eligible candidates are to follow the steps below carefully:

Step 1

Visit the official university portal:

IMSU Admission Portal

Then click on the 2026/2027 POST-UTME/Direct Entry Application link.

Step 2

Enter your JAMB Registration Number to verify your eligibility.

Step 3

Generate an invoice using your JAMB Registration Number as the Invoice Number.

Step 4

Pay the screening fee of ₦2,000 and print your payment receipt.

Step 5

After 24 hours of successful payment, return to the portal to complete the online application form.

Step 6

Print out the final Acknowledgement Slip, which must be presented at the screening venue on the examination date.


Important Notice

  • Candidates are advised to use IMSU Microfinance Bank for easier payment processing and portal access.
  • The specific dates and schedule for the aptitude test will be communicated by the university later.
  • The registration portal closes on Thursday, 25th June, 2026.
