Sokoto State University (SSU), Sokoto, has officially commenced the online Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening registration for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The online screening exercise begins on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, and is open to suitably qualified candidates who selected Sokoto State University as their first-choice institution in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Candidates who scored 150 and above in the 2026 UTME are eligible to participate in the screening exercise, provided they meet the admission requirements for their chosen programmes.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the screening exercise, candidates must:
- Choose Sokoto State University as their first-choice institution in the 2026 UTME.
- Score a minimum of 150 in the 2026 UTME.
- Possess at least five (5) O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.
- Upload their O’Level results to the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
Direct Entry (DE) candidates are also required to upload scanned copies of their relevant A’Level qualifications such as NCE, ND, IJMB, Diploma, or equivalent certificates on the university portal.

The screening exercise is strictly online, and candidates are not required to sit for any Post-UTME examination.

Registration Steps
Candidates should follow these steps:
- Visit the SSU application portal.
- Enter your JAMB Registration Number to confirm your eligibility.
- View your programme and admission requirements.
- Click “Apply Now.”
- Create an account or log in using your Google account or registered email address.
- Pay the ₦2,000 screening fee (excluding transaction charges).
- Complete the online application form.
- Preview your application before submission.
- Submit the completed form online.
Applicants can monitor their payment status through the Transaction History section of the application portal.
Important Information for Candidates
The university has emphasized that only candidates who successfully complete the online screening registration will be considered for admission.
Candidates are also advised to ensure that their O’Level results have been uploaded on the JAMB CAPS portal, as failure to do so may affect their admission.
There will be no physical screening or aptitude test, as admission consideration will be based entirely on the online screening process and candidates’ credentials.
