The Governing Council of Lagos State University has announced vacancies for the positions of Registrar and Bursar, with both offices expected to become vacant in July 2026. In a statement issued by the university and signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola OLATUNJI-BELLO, mni, fnli, NPOM, FSPSP, applications were invited from suitably qualified candidates in line with the provisions of the Lagos State University Law 2004 (as amended). The Registrar is a principal officer responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the university, except financial matters, and also serves as the Head of the University Registry as well as Secretary to Council, Senate, Congregation and Convocation. Requirements for the position of Registrar include: A good honours degree from a recognised institution At least 15 years relevant administrative experience in university administration A relevant higher degree Minimum of five years experience as a Deputy Registrar in a recognised tertiary institution Proficiency in ICT for management services Membership of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators and other relevant professional bodies Similarly, the Bursar is responsible for the administration and control of the financial affairs of the university and serves as the Head of the University Bursary. Requirements for the position of Bursar include: A good honours degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting from a recognised institution At least 15 years relevant post-qualification experience, plus professional certification such as ICAN, ACA, ACMA or ANAN with 12 years relevant experience A relevant higher degree Proficiency in the use of accounting software and AI tools Minimum of five years experience as a Deputy Bursar in a recognised tertiary institution The university stated that the appointments will be for a single term of four years, with eligibility for reappointment for another four-year term. Candidates must also not be above 60 years of age by July 2026. Interested applicants are required to submit 15 copies of their detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) along with relevant credentials under confidential cover to the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, LASU, Ojo, Lagos.
