President Bola Tinubu Renames University of Maiduguri
President Bola Tinubu has announced that the University of Maiduguri will now be called Muhammadu Buhari University, Maiduguri. This decision honors the late former President Muhammadu Buhari. The announcement was made during a special meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in Abuja.
Tribute to Muhammadu Buhari
President Tinubu spoke highly of Muhammadu Buhari’s life and leadership. He said Buhari was a man of discipline, moral courage, and love for his country. Tinubu noted that while no leader is perfect, Buhari was a good, decent, and honorable man who stuck to his principles.
“He stood always ramrod, unmoved by the temptation of power, unseduced by applause, and unafraid of the loneliness that comes to those who do what is right rather than what is popular,” Tinubu said. As he spoke, the room with ministers and government officials became quiet and thoughtful.
Memories of Working Together
