This is to officially inform the general public, particularly all prospective students, parents, and guardians, that the management of Gombe State University has released the approved departmental admission cut-off marks for the 2025/2026 academic session. This development is part of the University’s ongoing effort to ensure transparency and provide timely information to all applicants who wish to secure admission into its various undergraduate programmes.
The approved cut-off marks apply to all departments and faculties within the institution and will serve as the baseline for evaluating candidates who have applied for admission through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) for the 2025/2026 academic year.
It is important to note that the minimum cut-off mark of 150 remains a general eligibility requirement. This means that any candidate who scores at least 150 in the UTME is qualified to participate in the selection and screening process. However, gaining admission is not solely based on meeting this score. The actual admission will be granted based on a combination of merit, catchment area considerations, and available departmental slots.
Candidates are therefore advised to ensure that they meet not only the general eligibility criteria but also the specific departmental cut-off marks relevant to the course they applied for. Departments with higher competition and limited spaces may require scores above 150, so it is essential for applicants to review the full list of departmental cut-off marks carefully.
In addition, the University wishes to inform all candidates that the 2025 UTME admission screening exercise is scheduled to commence in September 2025. Only candidates who have selected Gombe State University as their first-choice institution on the JAMB portal will be eligible to participate in this screening exercise. Those who have not done so are encouraged to effect the necessary change through the JAMB portal if they intend to pursue their academic journey at Gombe State Universit
The detailed cut-off marks for each department and programme can be viewed on the attached photos below.
The management of Gombe State University appreciates the continued interest and trust shown by students and stakeholders and remains committed to upholding excellence, fairness, and equal opportunity in its admission process
