JAMB ROLLS OUT FRESH DIRECTIVES AHEAD 2026 UTME REGISTRATION

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has mandated that all candidates registering for the 2026 UTME must declare whether they are already students of any tertiary institution.

This directive, announced by Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede in Onitsha, aims to curb impersonation and malpractice after findings showed that over 90% of offenders in the 2025 UTME were already admitted students.

The new registration template will include a compulsory section for declaring current admission status. JAMB warned that false declarations will attract severe penalties, including registration cancellation, admission withdrawal, and possible prosecution.

The Board reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining transparency and integrity in Nigeria’s admission process.
