Kebbi Polytechnic Laments Declining Student Enrollment

Kebbi State Polytechnic, Dakingari, has raised concerns over low student enrollment, with only 600 students currently admitted despite accrediting more courses.

Rector Dr. Abubakar Boyi-Dalatu said measures like opening study centres across the state and running 18 NBTE-approved trades at its Skills Development Centre are in place to boost admissions, which are expected to reach 2,000.

The institution also secured N500 million TETFund support for an Innovative Technology Centre to enhance practical skills training.

The state government is holding stakeholders’ meetings to further address the issue.
