President Bola Tinubu has approved the immediate employment of 200 outstanding ex-NYSC members into the federal civil service, with each receiving ₦250,000 and a scholarship for postgraduate studies in any Nigerian university.
Ten physically challenged ex-corps members who were injured during service will also be employed.
At the Honours Award ceremony, top male and female awardees were celebrated for their commitment and impact.
The Minister of Youth Development praised the President’s support for youth empowerment, including raising NYSC allowance to ₦77,000.
NYSC DG Nafiu highlighted the scheme’s achievements in healthcare, ICT, and skills training, urging awardees to serve as ambassadors of unity and hope.
