JAMB Explains Why Candidates Cannot Yet Print UTME Results

Many candidates have raised concerns over their inability to print their UTME result slips from the official JAMB portal, despite already receiving their scores.

In response, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that this is not due to any technical issue or system failure.

According to the board, the current phase of the result release process only allows candidates to view their results, while the printing of result slips will be enabled later.

JAMB explained that results are being released in batches, and some services are intentionally restricted until the entire process is completed. This means candidates can confirm their scores for now, but cannot yet generate official printouts from the portal.

The board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, also reiterated the approved method for checking results in a post on X (formerly Twitter):

> β€œTo check results, candidates should send UTMERESULT via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number (SIM) used during registration. At this stage, candidates may view their results only; printing is not yet available.”

Additionally, candidates who no longer have access to the SIM card used during registration are advised to remain patient until alternative options are provided or the next phase is activated.

JAMB emphasized that this phased approach is part of its standard procedure to ensure accuracy, proper verification, and a smooth release process.
