ABIA STATE UNIVERSITY (ABSU) RESCHEDULES FIRST SEMESTER EXAMINATIONS FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of Senate, Professor Ndukwe J. Okeudo, has approved a two-week postponement of the First Semester Examinations for the 2025/2026 Academic Session. This adjustment is intended to ensure all administrative and academic preparations are fully finalized.

REVISED EXAMINATION TIMELINE

Students and staff of Abia State University (ABSU) are to take note of the following changes to the academic calendar:

Initial Commencement Date: Monday, 27th April, 2026

New Commencement Date: Monday, 11th May, 2026

All Provosts, Deans, Directors, and Heads of Departments are expected to comply with this new schedule and update their respective faculty plans accordingly.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ELIGIBILITY

The University Senate reiterates that only bonafide students will be cleared to sit for the examinations. To be eligible, students must meet the following conditions:

Fee Payment: Full payment of all prescribed tuition and departmental fees.

Course Registration: Proper registration of courses via the university portal within the stipulated timeframe.

ATTENDANCE POLICY ENFORCEMENT

The Senate policy regarding lecture attendance remains a critical prerequisite. The 75% minimum attendance rule will be strictly implemented. Any student who fails to meet this requirement will be disqualified from writing the examinations for the affected courses.

FINAL ADVISORY TO STUDENTS

Matriculated and returning students are urged to use this two-week extension for intensive study and to resolve any outstanding registration issues. Ensure you have your exam dockets and receipts ready before the new start date.
