The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) has approved the Academic Calendar for the 2026/2027 Harmattan Semester.
The approval was given by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. R. O. Rom Kalilu, on behalf of the Senate, following the presentation of the calendar by the Committee of Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Provosts and Deans.
The announcement, contained in a notice signed by the Registrar, Olayinka O. Balogun (Mrs.), dated September 16, 2026, outlines important academic activities for the end of the 2025/2026 academic session and the commencement of the 2026/2027 Harmattan Semester.

JULY 2026
Saturday, July 25, 2026:
2025/2026 Rain Semester Examinations end.
Sunday, July 26, 2026:
2025/2026 Rain Semester and Academic Session end. End-of-session break begins for all students.
Monday, July 27, 2026:
Resumption of fresh students for the 2026/2027 Harmattan Semester.
OCTOBER 2026
Monday, October 5, 2026:
Verification of certificates, documentation and registration by fresh students begins.
Monday, October 12, 2026:
Registration without penalty for fresh students begins.
Sunday, October 25, 2026:
Resumption of returning students for the 2026/2027 Harmattan Semester.
Monday, October 26, 2026:
Registration without penalty for returning students begins.
Friday, October 30, 2026:
Commencement of lectures for fresh and returning students.
NOVEMBER 2026
Monday, November 2, 2026:
Registration without penalty for returning students ends.
Monday, November 2, 2026:
Registration with penalty for returning students begins.
Sunday, November 8, 2026:
Verification of certificates, documentation and registration by fresh students ends.
Monday, November 9, 2026:
Registration with penalty for returning students ends.
Registration without penalty for fresh students ends, while orientation for fresh students and registration with penalty for fresh students commence.
Thursday, November 12, 2026:
Matriculation ceremony.
Sunday, November 15, 2026:
Registration with penalty for fresh students ends.
IMPORTANT DATES
The approved calendar also contains further academic activities scheduled for November 22, November 23, November 28, November 29 and November 30, 2026, as well as activities scheduled for December 23, 2026, and January and February 2027.
Students are advised to consult the official detailed calendar released by the university for the specific activities and dates applicable to them.
NOTICE TO STAFF AND STUDENTS
The university has advised all members of staff and students to take note of the approved academic calendar and make the necessary preparations for the 2026/2027 Harmattan Semester.
Fresh students are particularly advised to complete their verification, documentation and registration within the stipulated periods, while returning students are expected to comply with the registration deadlines to avoid applicable penalties.
The 2026/2027 Harmattan Semester will officially bring together fresh and returning students for the commencement of lectures and other academic activities following the completion of the 2025/2026 academic session.
