The Lagos State University has announced the commencement of activities for the 2026/2027 admission exercise, specifically the Independent Indigeneship Verification Exercise (IIVE), as preparations begin for the new academic session.
According to an internal memorandum issued by the Admissions Office of the university’s Directorate of Senate and Academic Affairs, the exercise will begin on Monday, April 27, 2026, with a sensitization meeting involving the Vice-Chancellor, members of the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC), and the Admissions Officer.
The memo, signed by the Principal Assistant Registrar, Admissions, A.J. Bamigboye, outlined the approved timetable for the verification process and the roles expected of the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee during the admission exercise.
As part of the outlined schedule, online payment for registration and the verification process will commence on Monday, April 27, and run through Friday, May 22, 2026. This phase will involve candidates, the IIVC, the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), and the Admissions Office to ensure proper support and resolution of issues.
The physical revalidation exercise, where candidates are expected to prove their indigeneship claims, will also take place within the same four-week period. The university noted that old clearance cases would be revalidated simultaneously, with the committee working daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to address challenges and ensure smooth processing.
The university management further directed the Chairman of the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee to make adequate preparations for a seamless exercise, stressing the importance of proper coordination among all stakeholders involved.
