The University of Abuja has announced the schedule for its 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremony, set to hold from Friday, 10th to Saturday, 18th April 2026.
The ceremony will feature the award of First Degrees, Higher Degrees, and Conferment of Honorary Doctorate Degrees, with major events taking place at the Convocation Square, Main Campus.
Activities will commence with a Juma’at Prayer on Friday, April 10, followed by an Inter-Denominational Church Service on Sunday, April 12.
A press briefing by the Vice-Chancellor, Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, is scheduled for Monday, April 13, while other activities lined up include innovation showcases, public lectures, a convocation play, and a convocation lecture.
The convocation lecture will be delivered by Olugbenga Agboola, CEO of Flutterwave, themed “Graduating into an AI Powered Fintech World: Opportunities, Challenges and Responsibilities.”
The main convocation ceremonies will hold as follows:
Friday, April 17, 2026: Award of First Degrees
Saturday, April 18, 2026: Award of Higher Degrees and Conferment of Honorary Degrees
The event will conclude with a Chancellor’s Dinner at Transcorp Hilton Abuja on April 17.
