UNIVERSITY OF UYO ANNOUNCES FINAL YEAR CERTIFICATE SCREENING EXERCISE FOR 2024/2025 ACADEMIC SESSION

The management of University of Uyo has officially announced the commencement of the final-year certificate screening and verification exercise for the 2024/2025 academic session. This development is part of the institution’s efforts to ensure proper documentation and validation of students’ academic records before graduation.

According to information released by the Directorate of Academic Affairs (Records Unit), the screening exercise is scheduled to run from April 7, 2026, to July 7, 2026, spanning a total of 63 days. The exercise is expected to involve over 12,000 final-year and spillover students, making it a significant academic activity within the university calendar.

The directive applies not only to current final-year students but also to those who completed their programmes in previous sessions but were unable to participate in earlier screening exercises. The university emphasized that participation is mandatory, and failure to take part may prevent affected students from obtaining essential documents such as their Notification of Results or mobilization for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Students are required to present both original copies and photocopies of important documents. These include their academic certificates submitted during admission, birth certificates or age declarations, admission letters, school fee receipts, course registration forms, and recent passport photographs. The institution further stressed that only original certificates issued by recognized examination bodies will be accepted, while statements of results or online printouts will not be considered valid.

To ensure a smooth and organized process, students have been advised to strictly adhere to the screening schedule assigned to their respective faculties and departments. The university also warned that any student who fails to participate within the stipulated period will have to wait until the next screening cycle in the 2025/2026 academic session.

In conclusion, the final-year certificate screening exercise at the University of Uyo is a critical requirement for graduation and post-graduation processes. The university has therefore urged all affected students to comply fully with the guidelines and timelines to avoid unnecessary delays in the completion of their academic journey.
